Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for operation and maintenance of utility equipment and treated water system along with associated distribution networks for the seamless supply of utilities to process areas. This position is also responsible for on the job training of assigned operators at utility equipment.

 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Capable of independently handling utility operations
  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of all the utility equipment and associated distribution networks to ensure seamless supply of utility services as and when required by the production department
  • Accountable for the process of annual certification of Steam Boilers
  • Answerable for the stringent compliance to all the applicable regulatory requirements associated with the operation and maintenance of utility equipment all the time
  • Ensure strict compliance with Company SOP 4.1 for treated water quality and operation/maintenance of Water Treatment and Distribution System
  • Responsible for ReCon data logging and economic operation of utility equipment to maximize fuel savings to achieve Energy and Water targets
  • Effectively coordinate with OEM representatives to ensure compliance with Annual Maintenance Contracts for utility equipment. Also supervise these outsourced maintenance activities to ensure quality services are being received from the vendor
  • To act as On the Job Trainer for assigned operator on the utility operations
  • Ensure compliance with all the Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all the Engineering related documents, such as Utilities Equipment Log Sheets, Water Treatment Log Sheets, nd ReCon data logging sheets etc
  • Responsible for maintaining Utilities Area and Water Treatment Room as per AIBI and Quality standards to keep state of readiness for all the audits
  • Ensure strict compliance to all the Company EHS Standards while executing utilities operations
  • Implement standard requirements & take all necessary actions in area of responsibility to Sustain ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certification
  • Capable of conducting self-Inspections of Water Treatment Room and utility areas to comply food safety requirements
  • Ensure timely calibration of utility instruments with the help of local team and external vendors

CONTEXT

This position has to ensure availability of Quality Treated Water and Utility supplies to process areas as and when needed for manufacturing operations. The growth in sales is increasing the workload thus escalating the need to have resource capable of independently handling various utility operations as per FLT Career Progression Model. Additionally, reporting and documentation requirements are also increasing and have to be complied with at all times. With increased focus on GMP, Quality, HACAP, AIBI, GCS and HSE workload has increased requiring greater support to Maintenance Team Leaders from their team

JOB BOUNDARIES

The position has to work within the company policies and Company's procedures/guidelines defined. The position has to follow all the SOP’s for the operation and maintenance of utility equipment while meeting all the applicable regulatory requirements in order to ensure a continuous supply of utilities and treated water of approved quality for production requirements. The position has to consult the Maintenance Team Leader or Maintenance Engineer regarding day-to-day decision making to ensure that only correct and quality decisions are made at all times

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma of Associate Engineer with 3 - 5 years of practical experience
  • Class B Competency Certificate  for Steam Boilers
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Good understanding of Company applicable standards such as AIBI, Quality, HSE and GCS
  • Good Verbal Communication with reasonable writing skills
  • Capability to work in a team environment and under pressure
