Job Overview/Summary:  The Management Information System Manager will mainly be responsible for maintaining data standards, monitoring performance and managing parameters for fast response. This position will work with partners from Bannu, Kohat and Peshawar and will be directly reporting to Senior Protection Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

   Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security;

   Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users;

   Napping out the conceptual design for all databases.

   Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users;

   Refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model;

   Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements;

   maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;

   Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata);

   Controlling access permissions and privileges;

   Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;

   Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly; 

   Capacity planning;

   Working closely with other management and consultants.

   Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security;

   Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose.

   Any other work assigned as per project needs.

Job Requirements:

Required

·         Master Degree in IT, Information System, Computer Sciences.

·     At least 4 years’ experience in managing development sector databases preferably for protection purposes. 

· Knowledge Information System security and standards.

·         Expert in handling all phases of SDLC.

·         Knowledge of SQL server and other DBMSs.

·         Proficient in MS Access 2007.

·         Excellent English and good knowledge of Pashto essential; Strong team building skills;

·         Excellent communication and analytical skills; Good listening skills essential;

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities;

·         Willingness to travel within Pakistan
