Job Description:

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a B.E Electronics/Computer/Telecommunication
  • Have 10-12 years of experience, mostly in 2G/3G network operations/planning.
  • Be specialized in the area of 2G/3G telco network operations; IT customer services.

Job Description

  • Lead a 150+ strong diverse and highly skilled team spread geographically and looking after: (1) Network supervision; (2) OSS planning operations; (3) Access management; (4) Change management; (5) Network performance management; (6) Analytics and reporting; (7) Level 2 support and configuration for RAN, Core, IN, VAS and Transport; and (8) IT Customer Services.
  • Be the eyes and ears of the network. Detect, report, escalate, log, track and follow-up network faults and be jointly responsible along with field operations for network/system availability and MTTR. This will include IT BSS and enterprise systems once integrated.
  • Report relevant network events, KPIs and statistics (e.g., down sites, network availability, MTTR, worst performing sites, genset running hours, load shedding, Prime/T-Prime count, etc.)
  • Detect and report major performance impacting issues that otherwise do not manifest as fault management alarms/events.
  • Devise and implement OSS strategy.
  • Operate, administer and maintain the OSS platforms and data centres.
  • Devise, implement and manage access controls for technology (including IT) platforms in line with company policy.
  • Formulate, implement and manage network change controls (including for IT).
  • Execute network database and parameter configurations and changes.
  • Provide level 2 troubleshooting and support for issues and manage vendors and SLAs for level 3 support with the aim of achieving committed network and service availability.
  • Negotiate contracts and SLAs with vendors.
  • Plan, provide and manage IT services and end-user devices. This includes: IT Helpdesk function; Laptops, desktops, printers, scanners and peripherals; Blackberry support; Domain/AD operations; Email/messaging and productivity suite operations; IT Security operations; Video and audio conferencing operations.
  • Formulate business plans, forecast and budget CAPEX and OPEX, and ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate team development, identify critical roles and ensure proper succession planning.
  • Review team structure and assess talent requirements in terms of recruitment and selection; goal setting and performance review, team development, engagement and reward initiatives; coach and mentor team members and ensure resolution of people issues to maximize retention and performance of team members
